-more details-
“When Dart got out, I was able to keep up with him for a little while. I found him a few streets away and used my flock call and he responded, but before I could coax him back to me, the wind picked up and spooked him and he flew off very high and I lost sight of him as he rushed into the horizon. After another hour of searching for him I came home and immediately posted on 911 Parrot Alert. One day later (among the most agonizing I can recall), I checked my email and found that someone 4 miles away found him when he swooped down in front of the doctor’s office she worked at. Fortunately, her coworker’s daughter had kept cockatiels and knew of the site. Within an hour, we had our boy back. When we got back to the house Dart was happier than I’d seen him in the year that we’ve had him, I think he knew how close to being separated from us he was.”
——
Bright yellow face with rosy cheeks. White details on back of head. White and gray tail feathers. Wings are NOT clipped. He is a natural “shoulder bird” and will try to land on your head or shoulder if he is comfortable. He likes to share water with people out of our glasses. He more screeches than sings most of the times but he has a quirky syncopated “song” that he likes. For more pictures or details (even a video) of him and the sounds he tends to make, contact me.
He flew away from his Westover, WV home on June 3, 2012.
REWARD FOR SAFE RETURN.
