I have good news to report. “Woody” my African Grey Parrot was returned to me yesterday after being gone 7 days. A Gardener who works in my neighborhood twice per week found Woody on the second day before my flyers had been posted. Woody was found just one block away from home. The Gardener said Woody was easy to catch. He took him home (miles away) and kept him for the next 5 days. I believe he was planning to keep Woody until he returned to our neighborhood yesterday for his gardening job and happen to see our LOST flyer with Woody’s photo. It also said there was a large reward, which may have helped. But for whatever reason, he immediately called and said “I have your bird”. I really appreciated that he drove all the way home and back again with Woody so we wouldn’t have to wait any longer….also, that he had taken good care of Woody all this time. We are thrilled to have our Woody back home again and I can now stop walking the neighborhood whistling at every tree I pass:) But had I gotten the flyers out just one day sooner, it would have saved me 5 days of grief. I guess it is true that African Greys stay close to home and will generally want to return after a couple days of adventure. There were many good people trying to help us and that is very comforting to know. We will be getting Woody’s wings clipped today. (If only there was a GPS micro-chip available….wouldn’t that be nice).
Thank you again for your support,
Rosilee

Light GREY with RED TAIL. Makes lots of loud whistle sounds and other sound effects. If within reach, hold out stick and say “Step Up” Call him by name…..’WOODY’ . Please call me immediately and he will be more likely to come to me rather than a stranger.
714) xxx-xxxx. He seems to be spotted in trees near the Reservoir which runs next to our home. I don’t believe he wants to leave this area because it is easier to find his way home again….when he’s ready. We have had him 9 years.
