Our sweet cockatiel Rosie flew the coop late Thursday afternoon but we saw him do a few flyovers the following day, Friday, 2 August. He was having a great time circling above the houses. I haven’t heard or seen anything since the storms over the weekend. He’s banded and friendly and will hop up on your finger if you get close enough. He may imitate the infamous wolf whistle/cat call if you can whistle. Last known location in Carytown on Parkwood Ave between S. Colonial and S. Sheppard. I have put his cage with the door wide open on the front porch and am playing his favorite cockatiel calls. If I were a bird that found out I could fly high and far instead of being cooped up in a cage or a room regardless of how big they were, I’m not sure I’d come back either. I appreciated that he circled and flock called a couple of times the last time I saw him. I know he saw me because I called out to him and wolf whistled the way we greeted each other whenever I came into the room. He circled a couple more times before likely going to rest in a treeā€”it was brutally hot that afternoon. He’s the traditional gray and white with yellow and rosie cheek markings of a male cockatiel.
