Our bird was last seen around February 8th or 9th near Main Street and 19th Avenue in Mount Pleasant (Vancouver) late at night (around 11pm or possibly nearing midnight). He flew south.
He was initially rescued by us after flying into a truck, tired and hungry.
It didn’t take long for him to begin to warm up to us, sitting on our finger and flying onto our shoulders.
He is quite people-friendly, and enjoys the company of people.
He is energetic, enjoys singing and dancing in front of a mirror, and enjoys things/toys that he can nibble on.
He is a little bit of a biter sometimes, mostly trying to bite peoples’ fingers, but he is not often aggressive.
He is fairly young, his cere is blue-ish, marbled with a bit of purple.
He had recently lost a large tail feather, which, when he is grooming himself, you can see where it once was (feather hole).
We’re hoping he survived the cold, and think that if he managed to find a good place to fly into in the first place when he was first found, it’s possible he’s done it again.
If you’ve seen him, or have him, any kind of hint as to where he may have gone would be helpful and give us some peace of mind.
He’s very much missed and loved by our family and brought laughter and joy to us everyday.
Please e-mail sheyla.e.ventura-at-gmail.com or phone (604)720-0329 if you’ve seen him over the past week or so.
Any information is immensely appreciated.
