NOTE: This is NOT an African Grey.
First I am very sad to say that I found this bird after it had died. I am posting this because I know if he or she were my lost animal I would want to know what happened. I am not positive what kind of bird it is, but it looks like the photo of the African Gray, but without the red in its tail. It has a plastic band on its leg with the numbers and letters GBH 222 DL and a sideways number 60. It is really a beautiful bird. I have it carefully wrapped outside in a place where you would be able to get him even if I am not home but off the ground where dogs and cats cannot reach him. I have photos which I can send if that will help, but I did not just post them because I thought that might be too upsetting.
I found him in mid-city Los Angeles on the ground in an area with some plants. There are no obvious injuries and so I thought he might have been hit by a car, or possibly knocked by a crow in the area. I heard some crows earlier this afternoon. I’m really sorry.
