A beautiful blue parakeet/budgie was feeding at my bird feeder in Calverton, New York, this afternoon. No injuries that I can see, but clearly a pet – silver band on left leg. I was able to get fairly close but not close enough to catch him. Tried to coax him into a carrier with birdseed and audio of budgie calls; he was interested but unfortunately it got dark, so I’ll try again tomorrow.
