Hi,
I just wanted to contact you to give you this information as it may be of help to someone who lost a beloved pet. I am reporting a possible sighting.
Today, Oct 19th, 2013 at approximately 2:30 – 3:00 pm I briefly glimpsed what looked like a Parrot. I saw it very briefly so details aren’t all clear but…
Fairly large parrot
top body and top wings are “parrot” green
once the head came around from behind the tree I spotted some vibrant red along with possibly white & maybe another color but then it just zoomed down into the brush and was lost from sight.
I can’t tell the species for lack of details but it could be something along the lines of a Lilac-crowned parrot or some other species with similar size & colors (green top body and red on the head or neck is a definite). The tail wasn’t that of a Macaw nor were the wings so I eliminated those from the possibilities.
I spent 12 years working with the environment in Mexico and it struck me right away.. this was not a local bird and was most likely someone’s lost pet.
I hope this information is helpful and anyone wishing to contact me about it can email me here: griffingraffix@gmail.com.
Sadly, I don’t have a phone.
Thank you!
