WEIRD BIRD – pheasant? (Ellsworth WI)
I saw a really strange bird in my yard this afternoon that I have never seen in my 19 years as a Midwesterner. Now I’m very concerned it is a loose pet. It was 8 degrees and it was hiding under my pine tree.
Black and white head, long tail feathers maybe 1-3 feet? It looked like a pheasant or peacock and it tried to fly but couldn’t really – kind of like a chicken can’t really fly.
