Through net-working with other bird lovers, Angela for sending me info and my checking on (and being late for work again that morning, lol!), Kimberly from our West Los Angeles Bird Club for finding the stolen ad on Craig’s list and inquiring and willing to drive down from Santa Monica to Long Beach in the pouring rain to look for the macaw, and the awesome help of Donna from the 911 Parrot Alert (Official) Group, this sweet Military Macaw that was out in Long Beach since 12/15 (like a sitting duck, waiting for trouble to get it!) has not only been caught, BUT, he was a STOLEN BIRD from Los Angeles, and now is returned to his rightful owner!!! This IS one lucky bird!!! wink emoticon
What a Christmas Eve Miracle in and of itself!
Thanks to Larry Finley (not even a bird person) who posted it to a Long Beach page, and then it went from there!
Thanks DG Powell for your help and having the 911 Parrot Alert/and data base to help with lost, found, and stolen birds to be reunited to their owners!!! You truly are an angel with your wings here on Earth for the birds in need!
Makes my heart sooooo glad to have seen this last night before I went to bed!!! wink emoticon
SIGHTING macaw is at the little park at Orange Ave and 9th. Monday Morning 9:30.
