An African Grey parrot was found in a Dundee garden with all its tail feathers missing.
The Scottish SPCA was called to rescue the bedraggled bird after a resident of Hazel Gardens spotted him on June 2.
Nicknamed Timmy, he is now recovering in the care of the Scottish SPCA’s Angus, Tayside and Fife Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre at Petterden, Dundee.
The animal welfare charity is appealing to the public to help find his owner.
Assistant manager at the rescue centre Lesley Clark said: “We think Timmy is a Timneh African Grey parrot and we believe he could be a male.
“He is not the friendliest of parrots at the moment, but this is understandable as he’s clearly been through a frightening ordeal.
“All of his tail feathers have been removed and he has a few war wounds elsewhere on his body so we think that he may have been attacked by crows or a cat.
“It’s likely that Timmy has an owner somewhere who will be missing him so we’d encourage that person to come forward to claim their lost bird.
“If no-one comes forward to claim Timmy then we will care for him until we can find him a loving new home.”
Anyone who recognises Timmy is being encouraged to call the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
