Follow.A veterinary practice in Nailsea is hoping to reunite a lost feathered friend with its rightful owner.

The green and yellow budgie, which staff have nicknamed Lucky, was brought into the surgery by a member of the public who saw it being attacked by a magpie.

The stray budgie, which has been nicknamed Lucky
.Staff at the vets treated Lucky for a cut which he had suffered during the attack and he is now being fostered by one of the staff members, who has an aviary.

Vet Liz Watkins said: “Obviously it would be great if he started to talk and maybe provided us with some clues as to where he’s come from.

“Sadly though, I think it’s more likely that we’ll have to rely on some of our more conventional methods of reuniting missing pets and their owners.”

The practice is also looking to reunite two cats with their owners.

A long-haired female ginger and white cat was handed in at the Yatton practice, while a black and white male of about a year old was handed in at Nailsea.

Anyone who can provide information about the budgie or the cats should call 01275 858628.
