Guiseley, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, UK

Attempts are being made to trace the owner of a swearing parrot after the bad-tempered bird was found wandering near a Guiseley vets. The angry African grey was taken in to White Cross vets after it was discovered wandering the streets close to the practice. A local man spotted the bird close to a road on Wednesday lunchtime and when he picked it up he was sworn at. Undeterred, he took it to the vets where it is now being fed and looked after. White Cross veterinary nurse Hayley Thompson said: “The parrot is wearing a leg ring which will hopefully reveal the details of its owner but we’ve been unable to check it as yet because it’s angry and keeps shouting ‘oi!’ at us. “Parrots can have very powerful beaks but once it’s calmed down we’ll hopefully be able to contact the owner.” Anyone with information about the parrot should call White Cross Vets
