Found bird, july, 2016 and bird still alive as of 10/1/16. Flying free with other birds and feeds on bird food I put out, plus bird bath for water. how do I retrieve this bird? He is not mine and seems very shy – flies away when I talk to him. (pretty bird). i know the owners but they won’t make any effort to catch him. I want to save him, but don’t know how. he is wild, due to being free for over three months, where he hangs out in my back yard in the trees, or berry bushes. he seems to have adapted to the wilds very nicely, but it is getting colder, and I am not sure if he will survive the colds of fall or winter here.
