I found a lutino cockatiel a little more than a month ago in my driveway in downtown New Haven. I have searched for the owner but have not been able to locate them. I am unable to keep this cockatiel so I’m looking for someone who is an experienced cockatiel owner who can handle a bird that is not hand trained and not particularly friendly. I am not an experienced bird owner, I just found him in my driveway and knew he would not survive if I did not bring him inside (this was at the end of February and it was cold inside). He (i think its a he) is a beautiful bird and an experienced cockatiel owner may be able to get him to be a little friendlier but he has not really warmed up for me and still opens his mouth when I get close to his cage (I think he still feels threatened).
I hope I can find a loving owner for him. Many people have contacted me about adopting him but I am seeking someone who has owned cockatiels in the past and is OK with adopting a bird that may take some work. Last night, I found a Lupino Cockatiel in my driveway. It was raining and it’s obvious this bird is not indigenous to the area so I picked him up and brought him inside. He has a yellow head with orange cheeks and a white/yellow body. If this is your bird, please contact me!
