Found parakeet/ common budgie in the Higgins Ranch neighborhood near the cross streets of Los Serranos Country Club Dr and Torrey Pines at around 4pm on Saturday August 8th, 2020. Owner of home where parakeet was located put out a notice on Facebook and I headed over and successfully retrieved parakeet. While scared the parakeet was very tame and healthy and did not bite upon capture and handling.
The parakeet is now safe with me in Chino Hills, California.
Please provide complete band number to ensure the return of the parakeet to rightful owner.
If complete band number can not be provided, I will need the color and sex of the parakeet as it is sexually mature. I will also need photos or video showing the color of leg band. Lastly, facial markings or other physical attributes, such as skin color or other distinguishing physical features, will need to correspond with found parakeet.
As a life long time bird owner I do not believe the bird was lost for very long. While hungry and tired after rescue (temperature was around 100 degrees at time of rescue), the parakeet is very chubby with no wounds upon physical inspection.
