Saturday, 18 August 2018, what appears to be a mature house-trained / people-friendly Cockatiel approached us near our outdoor terrace in West Lake Hills (Austin), TX. She/he appeared a good bit hungry, thirsty and exhausted from the heat. We’ve taken the bird in, got it some food and water and into a makeshift cage indoors. Some photos attached. Bird is not banded.
We suspect domesticated birds usually don’t stray too far from their homes, so we wanted to see if anyone may have lost a bird.
