This adorable cockatiel was found on our school’s campus on Friday, April 22, 2016 at approximately 11:00 am. She was very hungry, but otherwise healthy, and warmed up to humans very quickly. She is currently being cared for by a classroom teacher and her students and has become a class pet. The teacher is very happy to continue caring for her, but we are primarily committed to reuniting her with her original family.
The bird was found on the campus of our school, Poly Prep Country Day School, located at 9216 7th Avenue (corner of 92nd Street & 7th Avenue) in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. She does not have a band. She is fully flighted and whistles and chirps, but so far does not talk. She currently eats only seeds and pellets, but we are trying our best to get her to eat fruits, veggies, and nuts.
If this is your bird, please contact Jill Bolstridge at jbolstridge@polyprep.org.
