When our pied cockatiel got outside, we spent all day yesterday walking around our neighborhood looking for her. Her name is Pepper, but she doesn’t quite respond to her name yet. Her singing sounds like a rough male Cardinal mating call that is sometimes infused with a bit of loud screeching. She is very friendly and likes to land on peoples’ heads and shoulders, and she is currently wearing a blue band around her left leg. On her back and a little down her tail feathers, there is a collection of tiny black and grey dots.
