Quaker Parrot Needs Home (Milwaukie)
I have a lovely bird named Pilot that needs a new home. He was actually found on a doorstep in Vancouver, Washington. Perhaps an escapee. 🙂 I believe him to be a male Quaker Parrot. He is a smart and sensitive bird. Friendly and seems to pick up on your emotions. He says, “step up”, “shut up” and whistles. He loves to shake his head no and make a “burrr” sound. When he wants attention he pulls out all of his tricks. I can tell his previous owners trained him well, but I haven’t figured out all of the commands that he has been taught. He is capable of being an awesome pet..but, he needs an owner that has the time to train him on a consistent basis. This means daily. He will be an exceptional bird with the right owner! He is quit at night, phew and doesn’t start stirring until I do..which is usually at noon and goes to sleep around 10. But, he DOES squawk when he takes off on flight ( wings are clipped) and when people are over that he doesn’t know. It just takes letting him sit on the newbies head or shoulders and then he is cool. He is noisy but can be easily trained not to be. He is noisy when he is bored. 🙂 Please know that you have to LOVE birds in order to enjoy Pilot. You shouldn’t take him on a whim. I am asking $150 for re-homing which includes his cage, toys and bird seed. The cage picture looks like it is small, but it is actually perfect size, plenty of room and has two perches. He loves his cage and his toys. I will include a cage cover for sleep time. 🙂
Thank you!
