FOUND QUAKER PARAKEET in Haverhill, MA on 7/8/24
Posting on behalf of the person who originally found her as he doesn’t use social media & The Quaker Parakeet Society who will be picking the bird up tomorrow afternoon.
This Quaker Parakeet was found on 7/8/24 in Haverhill, MA on Hale Street near 8th Ave. The bird landed on a nearby woman startling her and he offered to take the bird, the bird stepped up on him and he was able to take the bird with him into his truck and then home.
He said he reported the bird found to animal control but hasn’t heard anything back yet.
The bird has no leg band but seems very friendly and hand tame. He is contacting a vet today to see if he can get him/her scanned for a microchip and checked out.
I put him into contact with The Quaker Parakeet Society and they will be picking the bird up tomorrow afternoon.
