I don’t know what species it is but it was a bright yellow bird hopping around on the ground/bushes before flying up into the trees with other birds when a car came by. I’m guessing it’s a parakeet? Seen in Rockville Centre, NY on Hempstead Ave. between Raymond Ave. and Argyle Place, just north of St. Mark’s Church.
Beautiful bird but looked out of place so I figured it must be a lost pet. I hope it’s someone’s and they see this. I’ll check the area again tomorrow.
