LOVEBIRD found on 08/25/2011 on 475 East 144 Street near the intersection of Willis and Brook Avenue. This is a Red-headed Lovebird. Has a pink-toned face, flesh-toned beak, green feathers, slightly blue on tail feathers. Has a silver band around right leg. From research, I’ve learned a band on the right foot is for a male, but I am not 100% sure what sex it is, nor the age (it looks young though). Bird was in my backyard area, standing on the railing of a neighbor’s porch. I called to it and it flew over to me and into my home. It is a loving bird and does bite a little bit.
