Hello, my pet cockatiel recently escaped my condo building accidentally and has perched on top of multiple trees that are multiple stories tall. Currently, I don’t know where she is right now, but if I find her again, what do I do in order to get her back, especially if she’s on one of the very tall trees? I’ve tried to call her and used food to try to make herself fly over to me, but it always failed.
And according to the internet, an escaped cockatiel won’t and will not try to come over to try to fly over to their owner when they are outside, so I don’t know what to do. I don’t think trying to climb or using a ladder to get on a tree would work since all the trees my cockatiel perches onto are way too high and even services like animal control said that it would be way to high to get her.
Does anyone know what I can do here?

First, try calling your bird with familiar sounds or favorite treats, as cockatiels often respond to familiar cues. If the tree is too tall to climb safely, consider using a long ladder or even contacting a local animal rescue team that can help with tree rescues. Alternatively, bringing another bird in a cage may coax your cockatiel down. Just like when I try to focus to *do my assignment*, patience and persistence are key here! Your bird may come down when it feels safe.

Maybe a long ladder, a professional tree climber, or even a lure with your bird’s favorite treat might help coax them down. Patience and gentle calling can also do wonders.
