LOST WHITE BARE-EYED COCKATOO – The reward for this bird’s return is $100.00.
This beloved pet was lost Tuesday evening August 9th, at 7 pm in the evening while in the Jordan Creek Trail woods, close to 50th and Ep True Pkwy in West Des Moines. His name is Mattie and he is a timid bird but he does like people. His favorite food is almonds or apricot pits. He may come into someone’s back yard looking for food, if people are laughing he may imitate their laughing sound. Mattie is about 14 inches high and is mostly white except for bare spots around his eyes, making his eyes look big and black from a distance, and a little orange close to his beak and under the feathers on his head. The crest on his head appears because of his different emotions. Under his wings there is a bit of yellow, but in flight or unless you are really close he looks like a big white bird. His owner is offering a reward of $100 for his safe return. Please call Andrew if you have seen this bird.
